187 RADIOSITY ENHANCEMENTS • View Factor smoothing enhancements ‐ Viewfactor smoothing (VFSM command) with options 2 & 4 produced different results if the surface facets are reordered • New algorithm has been used to circumvent this issue. • Energy balance for higher order elements ‐ In rare cases with complex geometries the energy balance may not be rigorously satisfied ‐ For higher order elements, the midside node TEMP is not transferred to the radiosity solver. • RADOPT command will have a conservative option to address this issue which will reduce the energy imbalance to < 1%
