Step 2: Configure the Ansys Licensing Client
The following instructions describe the steps required to configure the ansyslmd.ini file on each
computer requiring access to the Cloud License Server.
Windows Configuration:
1. Create a json file containing your Cloud License Server Credentials:
a. Using your Ansys Customer Portal credentials, access the Ansys Licensing Portal at:

An Ansys_LicenseCloudServerId_.json file is created in the Downloads

d. After creating the json file, sign out of the Ansys Licensing Portal.
2. Use the Ansys Licensing Client Settings utility to append the ansyslmd.ini file with the CLS ID
and CLS PIN:

utility.

\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared
Files\Licensing\winx64\ClientSettings
b. Start the utility by right-clicking the ClientSettings.exe file and selecting, "Run as
administrator".
c. Click the Cloud License Server option.

WARNING: When this option is enabled, the behavior of any Ansys product releases
prior to 2019 R2 currently installed on the same computer will be affected, even if these
releases are not configured for Elastic Licensing. Please deactivate this this option when
using Ansys product releases older than 2019 R2.
