Published: 2020-3-19 Elastic licensing installation involves placing client-side executable files in the appropriate directory location. This installer will patch all versions installed in the directory you specify. 1. The compressed installation files can be found in the following location: https://support.ansys.com/AnsysCustomerPortal/en_us/Downloads/Elastic+Licensing+V2 Copy the appropriate package (Elastic_Patch_Installer_linx64.zip for Linux or Elastic_Patch_Installer_Winx64.zip for Windows) to your computer. 2. Using a standard decompression utility for your specific platform, extract the elastic licensing client-side installation files into new, temporary directory. 3. From the extracted directory, run the installation file: Windows: a. Right-click the elastic licensing installation file (install_patch.exe) and select Run as administrator. You are asked to enter the installation destination directory in a command prompt window. b. Enter the path to the directory that contains your Ansys "Shared Files" directory. For example: C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc or C:\Program Files\AnsysEM. c. Press Enter to run the installation. d. Once the installation is completed, close the command prompt window. Linux a. Run ./install_patch. You are asked to enter the installation destination directory in a command prompt window. b. Enter the path to the directory that contains your Ansys "shared_files" directory. For example: /ansys_inc/ or opt/AnsysEM. c. Press Enter to run the installation. d. Once the installation is completed, close the command prompt window.
