Release 2020 R1 - © ANSYS, Inc. All rights reserved. - Contains proprietary and confidential information of ANSYS, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates. Published: 2020-3-19 After completing the Linux Configuration steps above, you can now run Ansys Electronics products. To run non-electronic Ansys products (for example, Mechanical APDL), complete the steps described in Step 3: Configure the ANSYSLI_LCP Environment Variable (Linux Only) below. Step 3: Configure the Environment Variable (Linux Only) To enable all Ansys Products (not only Electronics) to use Elastic Licensing on Linux systems, you need to change the default value of the ANSYSLI_LCP (Ansys Release 2019 R2) or ANSYSLI_ELASTIC (Ansys Release 2019 R3 or newer) variable. To do this, set the appropriate variable to "1" as an environment variable prior to running any Ansys client-side application. To set the ANSYSLI_ELASTIC variable for Linux on Ansys Release 2019 R3 and newer: Enter the command: setenv ANSYSLI_ELASTIC 1 or export ANSYSLI_ELASTIC=1 (Depending on the shell you are using.) To set the ANSYSLI_LCP variable for Linux on Ansys Release 2019 R2: Enter the command: setenv ANSYSLI_LCP 1 or export ANSYSLI_LCP=1 (Depending on the shell you are using.) WARNING: By setting this variable, the behavior of any product releases prior to 2019 R2 installed on the same computer will be affected, even if these releases are not configured for Elastic Licensing. Elastic Licensing Known Issues and Limitations (Windows and Linux) • If Elastic Licensing is activated for 2019 R2, the behavior of any Ansys product releases prior to 2019 R2 currently installed on the same computer will be affected, even if these releases are not configured for Elastic Licensing. This might result in random application failures and sharing issues when running prior versions of applications in the default WB shared mode. • For 2019 R2, the Rigid Body Dynamics (RBD) Solver will no longer be able to share the license with the parent Mechanical process.
