Published: 2020-3-19 ANSYS, Inc. | Southpointe | 2600 ANSYS Drive | Canonsburg PA 15317 ansysinfo@ansys.com | http://www.ansys.com (T) 724-746-3304 | (F) 724-514-9494 Getting Started with Ansys Elastic Licensing Introduction: The document contains instructions developed specifically for a customer license administrator in charge of installing/configuring the Ansys software to consume Elastic Licensing entitlements. Perform all steps in the order they are presented for all electronics and non-electronics product installation directories. Prior to performing these steps, please have access to the following: • Have an Ansys product installed. (The minimum Ansys product release supported is 2019 R2.) • Your Ansys Customer Portal credentials (username and password). • For systems running Ansys Elastic Licensing with Ansys product release 2019 R2 or R3, access to the directory where the compressed package containing the elastic licensing client-side installation files is located. See, Step 1: Install the Elastic Licensing Client-side Executable Files (2019 R2 & R3 Only) below, for instructions on how to obtain this file and distribute the contents. • Verify that your firewall is not blocking this URL: https://laas.fnocc.com. After completing the steps below, the Ansys applications will consume the available local licenses (if a local License Manager is configured) before consuming Ansys Elastic Units from the Cloud License Server. Note: For both Windows and Linux, repeat the procedures below on all electronics and non-electronics product installation directories that require access to elastic licensing. Step 1: Install the Elastic Licensing Client-side Executable Files (2019 R2 & R3 Only) This step is only required when the latest product release version you are running with Ansys Elastic Licensing is 2019 R2 or R3. The client-side executable files are included with 2020 R1 or newer installations. If you have installed Ansys product release 2020 R1 or newer in the same directory as your release 2019 installation you can ignore this step continue with "Step 2 Configure the Ansys License Client" below.
