OVERVIEW Ansys 2023 R2 Release continues the tradition of adding features and enhancements to meet our customers' needs for state-of-the-art optical design and workflow optimization, saving our end users time, money and bringing products to market faster. For Ansys Zemax OpticStudio, this release adds an Optics Launcher and Self-service Trial which provides our customers with a launch pad for all their Ansys Optics applications. Customers are now able to see the projects and files they have been working on, have links to set up their Ansys licenses, and have access to the Application Gallery which provides a vast array of example simulation projects to get started quickly and easily. Best of all, the self-service trial means customers can now access trials for all the products in the Optics group (Lumerical, Speos and Zemax OpticStudio) automatically for 30 days. Users of Ansys Zemax OpticStudio Enterprise edition using our STAR (Structural, Thermal, Analysis and Results) module can now benefit from FEA (Finite Element Analysis) Symmetry Tool. STOP (Structural Thermal Optical Performance) analysis where the system has symmetrical loads can run dramatically faster. In fact, one customer carried out a 2D analysis, in just 3 minutes. For Ansys Zemax OpticsBuilder, the fold mirror tool offers users a way to simulate their environment and place fold mirrors that allow their optical product to fit in tight space-constraints. With Ansys 2023 R2 release, the fold mirror tool has new functionality including the ability to undo and edit fold mirrors, and more flexibility with placement within the optical layout. Ansys Zemax OpticsBuilder with Ansys 2023 R2 release will now be able to support Creo 8 & 9.
