ability to include additional project files that contain information about the project but are not part of a ZMX or ZOS file, such as an XLSX file. (All editions) • Optics Launcher: Customers are now able to see the projects and files they have been working on, have links to set up your Ansys licenses, and have access to the Application Gallery which provides a vast array of example simulation projects to get started quickly and easily. (All editions) • Self-service trials: The self-service trial means customers can now access trials for all the products in the Optics group (Lumerical, Speos and Zemax OpticStudio) automatically for 30 days. (All editions) • Structural, Thermal Analysis & Results (STAR) enhancements: (Enterprise edition only) o Component RBMs Tool enables customers to insert Coordinate Breaks into the Lens Data Editor based on rigid-body motion with just a few clicks. o FEA Symmetry Tool significantly speeds up the overall STOP workflow in cases where symmetrical assumptions can be used for the FEA simulation. FEA datasets can be mirrored or rotated to completely cover the optical surface before loading into OpticStudio. o Early Access: API (Application Programming Interface) commands loading refractive index data directly into STAR. This expands the types of workflows that OpticStudio can support. Ansys Zemax OpticsBuilder • Support for Creo 8 and 9: OpticsBuilder is now supported on PTC Creo Parametric 8 & 9. This allows users to stay up to date with the current releases of PTC Creo Parametric while still utilizing the OpticsBuilder add-in. • Fold Mirror tool fixes: Simulate your environment and place fold mirrors that allow your optical product to fit in tight space constraints. With Ansys 2023 R2 release, the fold mirror tool has new functionality including the ability to undo and edit fold mirrors, and more flexibility with placement within the optical layout.
