1 Ansys Speos 2023 R2 Update OVERVIEW Ansys Speos continues to push the innovation envelope to deliver accurate, high performance simulation capabilities for optics designers. The 2023 R2 release delivers powerful capabilities that speed time to result, improve simulation accuracy, and expand interoperability with other Ansys products. Productivity Enhancements • Optimization - Studies the influence of parameters, Speos objects or geometry based on photometric targets. Decreases set up time by providing direct access to all available parameters and measurements from the simulation. Provides optimization, design of experiment and custom algorithm capabilities. • Block Recording - Block Recording permits optical designs to be built with history tracking. For instance, assemble several Optical Part Design features, perform trims, etc. Design parameters can then be updated while keeping history. Block Recording in Speos 2023 R2 is more concise, for an improved readability: a single Block recorded when a Speos object is created and defined, until the edition of the object ends. Speos GPU Acceleration • Ray file support - Simulations defined with ray file sources now run with Speos GPU direct simulation, providing the same result accuracy with GPU speed. Any illumination project can now benefit from the GPU speed thanks to the support of ray file. • 3D irradiance support - 3D irradiance sensor permits designers to analyze light contributions for each face of a geometry by providing a 3D illumination map. Simulations defined with 3D Irradiance sensors can now run in Speos GPU direct simulation, providing the same result accuracy with GPU speed. Result Experience • Interactive Live Preview - Speos 2023 R2 introduces a brand-new explorative workflow using Live Preview. Any modification in the definition of Speos objects can be observed almost instantaneously thanks to the update button, powered by Speos GPU. This new workflow permits designers to explore unlimited "what-if scenarios" and more generally experience optics as the system is built.
