Note your Customer Number from your welcome email. Step 2 – Workstation and Server Preparation Who: ASC Where: License Server and Client Machines What: Ensure security software and user permissions do not interfere with installation How: It may be required to temporarily disable the Windows firewall and security software such as Sentinel One, Cisco Endpoint, Webroot, etc. as this has been known to interfere with the installation. Open necessary firewall Ports and Exceptions on the License Server and Client Machines. Step 3 – License Administration Who: ASC Where: License Server What: Obtain license files containing all assets and distribute them to the appropriate License Server How: The Ansys Licensing Portal at licensing.ansys.com manages all Ansys assets for the organization and allows for tasks such as rehosting a license file to a new License Server, viewing elastic credit usage, or activating new entitlements. ASC's for the organization have full rights through this portal (please contact your Account Manager if you need to change the ASC for your organization). Ansys Licensing: Activating Entitlements Ansys Licensing: Managing Activations Definitions Ansys Support Coordinator (ASC) – one per organization, typically IT or similar role. Manages access and deployment of Ansys products within the organization Ansys User – any person within the organization who uses Ansys tools License Server – Single machine which hosts the license file. Needs to be accessible via network by all client machines. Client Machine – any computer in which Ansys software is installed. Pulls licenses from License Server.
