LOW FREQUENCY ELECTRONICS Ansys Motor-CAD® and Ansys Maxwell® for ELECTRIC MACHINES These two products are the cornerstone of multiphysics and EM design and simulation in the low frequency EM simulation market. The added new capabilities in 2025 R1 further widen the competitive gap and allows for greater design flexibility of electric motors. These improvements will give users not only more design options, increased accuracy, and reduce time to market, but also more opportunities to innovate and produce electric motors that are more efficient, performant, and competitive. ADDING CAPABILITIES, ENHANCING WORKFLOWS & ACCURACY FEATURES / CAPABILITIES BENEFITS / VALUES VISUAL New Axial-Flux Machine Template in the EM Module of Motor-CAD: • Additions of 3 new topologies • FEA calculations using equivalent linear model Accelerates the design of axial flux machines with a new template in Motor-CAD. Complement the advanced EM analysis in Maxwell. High-Fidelity Efficiency Maps in the Lab Module of Motor-CAD: • Tailored resolution for flux and loss maps (also available for Lab-Maxwell link) • Performance mapping improvements for wound-rotor synchronous machines • Rotor flux maps in Lab postprocessing • Lab model export command Improves Accuracy & Control Strategy Optimization. Various Solvers Enhancements in Motor-CAD: • Robust workflow optimization with the adaptive templates (mesh control) in the EM module • Speed-up for induction machines • Improved permanent magnet loss calculations in the EM module • Full FEA AC loss in the EM module Higher Accuracy, Faster Solutions, New Cooling Strategies Resulting in Shorter Dev. Cycles & Faster Time to Market
