Ansys LS-DYNA • In 2024 R1 with the R15 LS-DYNA solver version, we introduce a new eigenmodes solver called Fast Lanczos for large models with large number of modes computed. This solver is more accurate with faster performance when compared to current approaches. For an electric car model, the Fast Lanczos solver was about 8X faster when compared to traditional Lanczos solver • It is now possible to accurately model fiber reinforced plastics parts for crash and other simulations. We achieve this with the enhanced Deep Material Network (DMN) which is a machine-learning based method. The new features significantly improve modeling accuracy with support for strain rate- dependency, tension / compression asymmetric properties and importantly including the residual stress and warpage from molding simulation results. • In R15 we continue our focus on the accurate modeling of Multiphysics and FSI applications with numerous features. For example: o The adaptive ISPG (Incompressible Smooth Particle Galerkin) support for Fluid-structure coupling allows the user to simulate the flow of adhesives in an automotive adhesive Hemming process o Moving porous regions are introduced to simplify modeling of different regions in a complex heart valve replacement simulation o A new JETLEN feature for AIRBAG Particle method allows for more accurate modeling of airbags with better preservation of directional impulse and minimizes unrealistic particle to particle collisions Ansys Sherlock / Electronics Reliability Solutions • With PySherlock, users can automate Sherlock's capabilities using Python-based APIs and integrate seamlessly with other technologies. • Sherlock is now available on Linux, which allows users to choose the operating system that is best suited to their needs and preferences. • Sherlock's integration with Workbench now allows users to specify PCB transformation options directly in Workbench, greatly simplifying the process of generating system-level reliability predictions. Additionally, users can now transfer Printed Circuit Boards modeled using Sherlock (Pre) to the Workbench Mechanical Model Component System, which streamlines their electronics reliability workflows. Ansys Motion • New drivetrain enhancements include Tooth Contact Pressure (TCP), Deformation (TCD) calculation, a way to calculate tooth stiffness, and a "Tolerance" tab of gear specification. These enhancements provide users with more accurate and realistic analysis of gear performance and durability. • With the Python module, users can now define motion, magnitude of force, and other complex outputs, allowing them to automate and improve efficiency. • Users can now troubleshoot any solver errors with the help of new user-friendly guide messages, saving them time and frustration when solving complex problems.
