Does Ansys Fluent with a Native GPU Solver Live Up to the Hype?
Test 4 – Vehicle Exhaust Model
This test involved the largest mesh we can run on our GPU with 48 gigs of RAM. It was an interesting case with
a wide range of cell types, including hex dominant, test cells, and polyhedral. The GPU was equivalent to about
70 CPU cores in this test.
The GPU handled this interesting scenario well. The GPU in single precision ran 100 iterations in about eight
minutes—over two times faster than the 32 CPUs could achieve.
