MPC formulation as the default for bonded shell contacts • Scope & Definition - Bonded contacts defined between Shell-Shell, Solid-Shell and Shell- Beam in 3D structural analyses • Formulation - Program Controlled setting will now use the MPC (Multi-Point Constraint) formulation instead of the earlier default Augmented Lagrange Advantages with MPC formulation • MPC gives more accurate results with gap contacts • MPC offers better convergence and shows no penetration between contact surfaces • MPC handles the rigid body mode issue for free vibration which is found with Augmented Lagrange formulation
