Ansys LS-DYNA Simulation Software – An Example Workflow
The Basic Workflow
LS-DYNA is a solver, which takes data from an input deck generated by a preprocessor, runs the simulations, and
then sends files for review to a post processor.
For preprocessing and postprocessing, we recommend Ansys Workbench LS-DYNA, because the input decks it
creates can be read by LS-DYNA, it is easy to use, and Ansys is continually investing in it to make it better.
How it Works – High-Level Overview
As users enter data about an object into a GUI, the preprocessor generates a specific keycard with instructions
on what the solver will do with that information. The preprocessor collects all the keycards and creates an input
deck, which it sends to the solver, which follows the instructions.
