E L I T E C H A N N E L PA R T N E R simulation@rand.com | RandSIM.com | 888.483.0674 Ansys HFSS vs. Ansys EMA3D Cable; Which is Right for You? • Emissions and Susceptibility – Like in HFSS, EMA3D Cable can analyze emissions and susceptibility and deliver answers to questions about whether the enclosure is doing its job. • Cable Crosstalk Analysis – EMA3D Cable enables engineers to accurately model cable harness assemblies. Routing location, shielding, and twisted pairs all impact crosstalk between signals. By modifying the position of different signals, optimal crosstalk is achieved. These cable configurations can also be exported as S parameters for accurate modeling of complex cables inside HFSS. • Cable Modeling – Braided Shields – EMA3D Cable includes a co-simulation with a wire simulation code that allows for the consideration of small conductors, braided shields, and thin foils to represent how much energy is leaking outside the braid. Data can be brought into HFSS or used within EMA3D Cable, depending on design needs, and used to see how changing the weave angle changes the transient response. Susceptibility Emissions
