The workflow depicted in the graphic below is of diffracting grating and shows that the surface
property file is:Created in Lumerical. Here we design a diffractive grating in Lumerical and run a
photonic simulation analysis to make sure it reacts to light appropriately
• Fed into Zemax where the ray tracing tool can be used to see how the diffractive grating fits into the
optical system to design lenses or mirrors around it to receive the intended "image" at the end of the
system, whether that be a human eye or a sensor.
Then we can import the optical system into SPEOS to see the final effect in an environment. Here we can
see more of the different orders and analyze how they mesh within each other.
2. End-to-End Optical Simulation Flow for LiDAR Pipeline
This workflow expands the experience with optics and connects with Multiphysics spaces.
To create the light, we see the workflow between Zemax and SPEOS to capture the environmental image
to land back into Lumerical for the detector imaging. We can then connect to electrical HFSS to convert
the photons into electrons. This data can go back into SPEOS and Autonomy for physically accurate
Lidar models.
A company using all three software tools gains a significant competitive advantage through faster time-
to-market, lower costs, and an overall improved client and employee experience.
